13 Nights of Spooky Socks is a three pattern collection of textured socks, built around a 13 mini skein countdown box. These can be knit up using any combination of mini skeins/leftovers/scraps/other style of advents (faded or not) and even in single colours!

This Collection is written toe up, includes 3 sizes, and a gusset and heel flap heel construction.

Skills Required
Judy’s Magic Cast On, working in the round, knit, purl, slipping stitches, increasing, decreasing, yarn over, reading
charts, bind off using a stretchy method.

Materials
Sample Yarn Used:
13 Nights of Halloween Countdown Box, Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co, Enemies to Lovers Fingering 4-ply, 85/15 SW
Extrafine Merino/Nylon, 87 yds/0.7 oz, 80 m/20 g.

The countdown collection includes 13 x 20 g mini skeins for a total of 1131 yds/1035 m fingering weight sock yarn. If you are building your own 13 colour collection, you will need 13 x 20g mini skeins.

This amount is sufficient to knit the whole collection AS LONG AS all socks are knit from the same direction. This
ensures that the heel is knit with a different colour for each pair, so that there is enough yardage.

Thing Socks
Simple stockinette, with one rnd of ‘stitches’ where colours meet. Fade ordered mini collections are mixed up in
this pattern to give the appearance of a pieced together ‘Thing’. Use any collection of minis/scraps/leftovers/advents/etc. for your own eclectic variation.

Shape Shifter Socks
Knit and purl texture in a shape shifting diamond pattern. This design is knit in an ordered fade, and would look
just as great in a selection of tonals, speckles or a mixure of all of your spookiest scraps. The mini sequence is knit C1 – C13.

Nevermore Socks
Gothic lace windows of Nevermore! Envision your favourite haunted house, mansion or castle! The design is knit in
an ordered fade, and again, this could easily be knit up with stripes, speckles, tonals or whatever mysterious
selection you might choose. The mini sequence is knit C1 – C13.

Yardage: 340 (390, 420) yds/311 (357, 385) m TOTAL fingering weight yarn per sock design. Yardage is an estimate
and is impacted by yarn used, knitter’s gauge, length of sock foot and/or leg knitted.

Suggested Needles:
2.5 mm/US 1.5, 80 cm/32” length for magic loop, OR 2 x 40 cm/16” long for the two-circular method, OR 2.5
mm/US 1.5 double pointed needles OR size needed to obtain gauge. Darning needle.

Gauge: 34 sts and 46 rounds = 10 cm or 4”, in the round, in stockinette stitch, for all three designs

US Shoe Size: Ladies 4-6.5, (Ladies 7-9.5/Mens 6-8.5, Ladies 10-12.5/Mens 9-11.5)
