Pat Olski’s versatile ruana is worked in one piece from the lower back edge to the shoulder, after which the piece is divuded and the left and right fronts are worked separately from shoulder to lower edge. The plaid is achieved with a 22-row stockinette pattern in the green-tinted colorway of Tennen #45, with purl stitches used at intervals-necessary later as a guide for the chain stitch. Four garter rows in colorways #2’s neutral tones crisscross with vertical lines created by a chain slip stitch along the purl stitches in finishing.
