3-5-7 Mitts
Utilizing a bit of out-of-the-box thinking and bit of imagination, I created these one day while thinking about short rows and what would happen if you added a hole to the center of them. One thing lead to another and the 3-5-7 Mitts were born!
The mitts use short rows, a clever mitered triangle, and feature a deconstructed look across the hand due to the nature of the short row wraps. I love these mitts for the speed of knitting them, the entertaining quality of the project, and the dynamic use of color to create a statement piece!
The name comes from the number of rounds of ribbing that edge each bit of the glove: 3 for the thumb, 5 for the hand, and 7 for the cuff. The unique nature of these mitts allows you to make them longer or shorter as you would like and to size them for a bigger hand, simply go up a needle size. There is a list of modifications at the end of the pattern and instructions on how to make them longer if you want!
So cast on a pair and you’ll be done as soon as you can count to 7!
