I’m loving this shawl design as it features a lace stitch pattern that’s so uniquely beautiful and multi-dimensional!

At first glance, the geometric lines of the lace resemble the cuts of a precious stone. Once you’ve knit multiple repeats, bands of ribbon appear, zig zagging along the length of the shawl.

However you wish to view and appreciate the lace pattern, it’s a true beauty to knit. You can knit the wider, rectangular shawl version, as shown, or a smaller scarf version, which only requires one ball of yarn!

While not a particularly complicated lace, the pattern is a 36-row repeat and is suited towards knitters with lace experience, as well as experience working with the mohair silk yarn. Your experience will be well rewarded with the finished beauty of this design.

The lace pattern is both charted and written.

Shawl shown in Garnstudio DROPS Kid-Silk in Heather; Scarf shown in Elann.com Silken Kydd in Baked Apple. Substitute yarns listed above for mohair/silk blends. Pattern would also work with a worsted-weight merino wool blend with excellent stitch definition (green scarf image).
