A classic V-neck sweater with lace detailing at the center front will keep you feeling warm while looking stylish. The pattern includes directions for optional waist shaping and guidelines for substituting a lace panel of your choice, making this pattern a versatile staple. This sweater is worked from the bottom up, flat, and seamed. Notes for working in the round (omitting side and sleeve seams) are provided. Directions are given for finishing the neckline by crochet or knitted ribbing.

Both written and charted directions are provided for the central lace stitch pattern.

28¾ (32½, 36¼, 41, 44¾, 48½, 53¼)“ / 73 (82.5, 92, 104, 113.5, 123, 135) cm bust circumference.

Sweater is designed to be worn with 1”/ 2.5 cm negative ease to 2” / 5 cm positive ease. Shown in size S with ~1” / 2.5 cm positive ease.

Materials:
Yarn: 725 (800, 950, 1175, 1225, 1350, 1475) yards/ 650 (750, 875, 975, 1125, 1250, 1350) meters. Worsted weight yarn.
Shown in Zitron Mistral (95% merino, 5% rayon; 109 yards/ 100 meters per 1.76 ounce/ 50 gram skein); color 1900 (red).

Needles and Gauges:
US #8 needles / 5 mm: Use one size smaller than needle used to obtain gauge below.

US #9 needles / 5.5 mm: 17 sts x 23 rows = 4 x 4”/ 10.2 x 10.2 cm in Stockinette stitch. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

To finish the neckline with ribbing, #8 / 5 mm 16”/ 40 cm circular needles will be needed for working in the round. Otherwise needles can be any style suitable for knitting flat.
