Acorn Newborn Cuddlegan
Assumed knowledge:
Provisional cast on using a crochet chain
Basic increases and decreases e.g mssk, kfb
Bind off in rib pattern
Pick up and knit
Backward loop cast on
Knitting in the round
Materials needed:
The Acorn Cuddlegan was designed using 4ply cotton blend. Meterage used was 180 m.
I used 3.5 mm 61cm/24in circular needles.
Stitch markers x13
Wool/darning needle
Crochet hook and waste yarn for provisional cast on
Gauge: 13sts x 16 rows = 5cm in stockinette after blocking
A gauge swatch is important to make the cardigan in the correct size
Sizes:
Newborn
34 long x 22cm wide at the shoulders laying flat after blocking
Stitch Legend:
st/s: Stitch/es
co: Cast on this pattern uses a provisional cast on method
sl1p: Slip 1 stitch purl wise
pm: Place marker
sm: Slip marker
rm: Remove marker
k: Knit
p: Purl
kfb: Knit front back- knit into the front and back of the same stitch
mssk: modified slip slip knit decrease, sl1 as if to knit, sl1 as if to purl return to left needle and k2tog though the back loop.
k2tog: knit two together decrease
k1tbl : Through back loop- knit into the back loop of the stitch
blco: backward loop cast on
yo: Yarn over
bo: Bind off
