Adelina Shawl
Adelina is the second in a series of knitting patterns inspired by the embroidery motifs found in the traditional Greek women outfits. Sikinos was the first one and it was quite successful.
This time, I created a rather easy lace motif, bearing in mind that there are many novice knitters out there. I used a lively, colourful, variegated sock/lace yarn that flatters the motif, inspired by the embroidery motif on the brides’ dresses in Northern Greece, namely in Thraki.
The easily repeated pattern will hopefully make this a quick knit and the bright colours can be easily substituted by any solid colour of your choice.
The pattern includes a chart and written instructions for 2 sizes, a shawlette or a shawl, as well as instructions for a variation of the pattern, an all-over lace version, according to the notes of Tsumugi, one of the test knitters.
Translated into German by fellow Raveler NerdNeedle, one of the wonderful Test-Knitters of this pattern.
