After The Harvest
Fall is my favorite season. I love the colors and how everything seems to change so quickly. A green hillside can be a blaze of color the next day, and bare a week later. Fields go from green and lush to brown and empty seemingly overnight. And of course the weather is changeable too.
After The Harvest is a generously sized shawl. She knits up quickly in a worsted weight yarn, but isn’t overly warm due to the fiber content and the relatively open gauge. The pattern is easy enough to knit by the fire or soaking up the last rays of sun, but not so simple that you’ll get bored.
Garter stripes, eyelet rows, and slipped stitches, combined with two colors of highly variegated yarn make for an eye catching accessory that will keep you warm all winter. Solid colors with high contrast also make a bold statement, and low contrast makes an elegant and versatile shawl for any occasion.
This pattern uses 5 skeins of yarn, 3 of the main color and 2 of the contrast. Leftovers are used to make the tassels, leaving a project with little to no leftovers.
