Needles
A 3.5mm (US 4) circular needle, 16” / 40 cm long,

A 4mm (US 6) circular needle, 16” / 40 cm long, and a set of Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or needle in your preferred style for working small circumferences in the round (see notes)

or needles required to obtain correct gauge

Gauge
17 sts & 26 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch on a 4mm (US 6) needle

Notes
Hat is worked in the round from the brim up to the crown. Change to DPNs or your preferred method for small circumference knitting in the round (such as Magic Loop) when necessary as you decrease for the crown.
