Alignment is a pretty, feminine crescent-shaped shawl with an allover lace pattern and a delicate, vintage-inspired edging, which is knit perpendicularly to the body of the shawl.

In spiritual circles, alignment means discovering the essence of your being and the deepest values by which you live. This pattern was inspired by a period of massive change in my life where I learnt what my deepest values were, and that they were absolutely non-negotiable!

Knit from the top down, Alignment begins with a garter tab that is slightly different to the garter tab you may be familiar with. The body of the shawl features an interesting and rhythmic lace pattern, followed by the edging, which is knit sideways onto the live body stitches.

64in (162.5cm) along top edge; 23in (58.5cm) deep at centre back

SUGGESTED YARN:
Fingering weight yarn - approx 575 yds (525 m)

4mm (US 6) circular needle (120 cm/46in), or size that gives an appropriately drapey fabric
22 stitch markers
Waste yarn for lifeline
Tapestry needle

GAUGE AFTER BLOCKING:
21 stitches and 18 rows to 4 inches (10cm) in pattern.
