Ancient & Modern Chullo In the Peruvian Andes, chullos are traditionally knit by men. Huari caps have 4 corners & most traditional chullos have earflaps. I am not of Peruvian or Spanish origin & do not claim these to be authentic, but just a love letter to an ancient knitting tradition. After looking at hundreds of photos and many books, I have created my own knit “mashup” of color and shape inspired by these caps. Graced with traditional motifs in modern colors and a modified 4 corner shape, this is a fun cap to knit and gift. Instructions for a rounded top are also included.

Always choose size to knit based on desired circumference. Earflaps are optional.

US Size 7 / 4 mm 24 in. Circular Needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 21 st x 25 rows = 4 in / 10 cm in stranded stockinette st, blocked.
4-Corner Finished Height: ( 8, 9, 10 ) in / ( 20.5, 23, 25 ) cm
Rounded Top Finished Height: ( 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 ) in / ( 21.5, 24.5, 26.5 ) cm
