Argentea
Argentea is a cardigan worked seamlessly from the top down with raglan shaping, ribbed trims, and 3 buttons a the top. A simple rib and cable panel runs down the center of the back (or the front!).
Finished Measurements at bust- 32 (34 ½, 37 ¾, 41, 44 ¼, 47 ¼, 50 ½, 53 ¾, 57)”, buttoned.
Sample shown with 1” negative ease.
Materials:
Carpet Bag by Mrs. Crosby (80% superwash merino, 20% silk) 100 gram skein = approx 240 yards
• 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8) skeins Vintage Port
• Approx yards- 1065 (1155, 1245, 1350, 1455, 1555, 1655, 1770, 1875)
Needles:
• One 29” circular (circ) needle size US 6 (4 mm). (Body is worked flat, circ needle is used to accommodate large number of sts)
• One set double pointed needles (dpns) size US 6 (4 mm). (for sleeves)
Or size to obtain gauge.
• One 16” circ needle size US 4 (3.5 mm). (for begin of neck rib)
Notions:
• Large stitch holders or waste yarn
• Tapestry needle
• Eight 5/8” buttons
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles.
