The Arume fingerless gloves are a joy for those who, like me, love stranded colourwork. They’re quick and fun to knit. Use up your fingering scraps and you’ll have a fabulous present in no time (once you’ve knitted some for yourself, of course!). Arume means perfume in the dialect of the region of Spain where I’m from and it felt like a perfect name for these gloves.

MATERIALS
• 2.75 mm (US 2) circular needles, either
80 cm / 32” long (if you use the magic loop method), or 23 cm / 9” (if you prefer short circulars) or DPNs (double-pointed needles). If you use short circular needles you’ll still need a long circular needle or DPNs for the thumb.
• 1 marker for the beginning of round and a different one to separate the palm stitches from the back of the glove stitches.
• Tapestry needle and waste yarn.

YARN
Fingering (400 m per 100 g) or light fingering (425 m per 100 g) weight yarn.
• Main colour (MC): 120 m / 131 yards. I used Travelknitter BFL Supersock in the Adventure colourway.
• Contrasting colour A: 55 m / 60 yards. I used Life in the Long Grass Fine Sock Bin Blush (pink).
• Contrasting colour B: 35 m / 40 yards. I used Feliz y Punto Merino Singles in Nordic Mist (purple).
• Contrasting colour C: 35 m / 40 yards. I used Paca La Alpaca Superwash Merino Singles in Lago (green).

GAUGE
15 stitches and 18 rounds in 5 cm / 2” in stranded colourwork (stockinette stitch knitted in the round), after blocking.

SIZE
Only size (women’s medium)

For hands with a circumference between 16-19 cm / 6.25-7.5 “ around the widest part (around the knuckles without the thumb). You can adapt the pattern to smaller or bigger hands by decreasing or increasing the needle size.

Los mitones Arume son perfectos para los que, como yo, amen el colourwork, es decir, tejer con hebras de colores cruzadas por el revés de la labor. Son rápidos y divertidos de tejer. Aprovecha tus restos de fingering y tendrás un regalo perfecto en un momento (después de haberte hecho unos para ti, por supuesto). Arume significa “perfume” en asturiano, y me pareció un nombre precioso para estos mitones.

MATERIALES
• Agujas de 2,75 mm, bien de 80 cm de largo (si usas el método de magic loop), o de 23 cm (si prefieres circulares cortas) o agujas de doble punta (5 agujas). Si usas las circulares cortas necesitarás las largas o las de doble punta para hacer el pulgar.
• 1 marcador de comienzo de vuelta y otro distinto para separar los puntos de la palma de los del dorso.
• Aguja lanera y lana de desecho.

LANA
Lana de grosor fingering (400 m por 100 g) o light fingering (425 m por 100 g).
• Color principal (CP): 120 m. Yo usé Travelknitter BFL Supersock en color Adventure.
• Color de contraste A: 55 m. Yo usé Life in the Long Grass Fine Sock en color Blush (rosa).
• Color de contraste B: 35 m. Yo usé Feliz y Punto Merino Singles en color Nordic Mist (violeta).
• Color de contraste C: 35 m. Yo usé Paca La Alpaca Superwash Merino Singles en color Lago (verde).

MUESTRA DE TENSIÓN
15 puntos y 8 vueltas en 5 cm en la zona de dibujos de colores (punto jersey en circular), después de bloquear.

TALLA
Talla única (talla media de mujer).
Para manos que midan 16-19 cm de circunferencia en la parte más ancha de la mano (alrededor de los nudillos sin el pulgar). Puedes adaptarlos a manos más estrechas o anchas bajando o subiendo el número de aguja.
