Beeswax Scarf
The annual Indie Design Gift-A-Long has begun, and this pattern is part of our grand kick-off sale! Use the coupon code giftalong2024 to get 25% off until midnight on the 27th of November (US EST).
A bold, large-scale honeycomb pattern on a soft cosy scarf—this is my dream cold-weather knit! The Beeswax Scarf is the result of my search for a honeycomb stitch that echoes the cable pattern I used in my Beeswax Hat, but which can easily be knit flat. I found a happy solution in this simple, addictive lace on a garter stitch ground. Three width options are included: a standard scarf, a wider scarf, and a wrap.
Skills Needed: basic lace stitches (knit, purl, yarn-over, k2tog, and ssk), slipped stitches, and optional Long Tail Cast On.
Materials: 3 (4, 5) balls of Outlaw Yarn Bohemia Worsted (45% Polwarth, 45% Alpaca, 10% Possum; 219yds/200m per 100g skein), or 611 (814, 1018) yards / 559 (745, 931) metres of worsted-weight yarn. Sample is knit in the colourway ‘Troy’.
Sizing: Scarf (Wide Scarf, Wrap). Shown in Scarf version.
Finished Measurements: 74.5 inches / 189 cm long (all sizes), and 9 (12, 15) inches / 23 (30.5, 38) cm wide.
The wrap can be enlarged by adding a repeat across and/or lengthwise (with additional yarn).
Charts and written instructions are both provided in full.
