This cowl is written in one size, but gauge is not crucial; the size can be adjusted by making the granny squares larger (or smaller), and picking up more (or fewer) stitches for the body of the cowl.

The yarn amount is estimated by weight, as your yardage may vary. If you choose to use a bulky yarn for the knit portion, you may also find that your yardage is different. I used just over a skein and a half, yardage-wise, in Knit Picks Heatherly Worsted.
