Berlis-beret is worked in the round from the brim up. The pattern has instructions for a beanie and a beret, knit either one.

Baby (Child, Adult S, M, L) to fit head size 42-44 (46-48, 50-52, 54-56, 58-60) cm/ 16 (18, 20, 22, 24) inches

Beanie
For size Adult S there are two options, a tighter or looser fit.

Yarn
40-60 g of fingering weight yarn, around 400 m (437.5 yds) per 100 g in two colours, app. 30-45 g of MC and 10-15 g of CC. The sample (size L) was knitted with madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% Merino, 384 m/ 420 yds per 100 g) in colourways Scout (MC) and Rocinante (CC) and used 42 g of MC and 12 g of CC.
Needles & notions
2.75 mm/ US 2 and 3.25 mm/ US 3 (80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop) circular needle, or set of DPNs or size to obtain gauge
markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge
32 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 inches with larger needles in stockinette stitch after blocking
