It is also captivating for the mind of an advanced knitter, who would be going for “just one more row” to see the picture appear in their hands.

Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate
Finished dimensions: Sized for children (head circumference 20”/50 cm) and adults (head circumference 22”/55 cm)
Suggested Yarn: fingering weight yarn, total of 2 oz/50 g or 250 yd/ 230 m fo adult size. I have used Jamieson&Smith 2-ply jumperweight shetland wool, one skein of Dark Cream and one skein of Raspberry.
Needles: size 3 (3.25 mm) and size 5 (3.75 mm) double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 13 st and 15 rows = 2 inches in colorwork.
