Bonbon the Anteater is your officially-appointed tour guide for the Bushy Tails Expedition. He’s set to take you on a magical adventure through the jungle to track down his beautiful and exotic animal friends so you can meet them! The first thing you’ll notice about your fancy little guide is his fabulous tail! Impeccably styled without a single silky hair out of place, this dashing little sprite knows the jungle like the back of his paw. He moves with surprising grace and nimble ease, flitting regally between branches, leaves and vines.

Somehow, Bonbon’s shining black eyes are hypnotic. With bedazzling charm, he turns to wink a beady eye at you before springing ahead, leading the adventure! You fall under his spell, allowing the swish of his tail to mesmerize you as you follow him through the underbrush.

ABOUT THE PATTERN

This pattern was written for the Bushy Tails Expedition CAL, hosted by Projectarian in collaboration with Airali Gray, Little Aqua Girl, Irene Strange, Lemon Yarn Creations, Natura Crochet and Pica Pau!

Bonbon is a small amigurumi designed in a rigid standing pose. The silky fur on his tail and front legs is made by needle felting with acrylic yarn, and he has smooth felted detail on his chest. This model is quick to make, the crocheted pieces work up fast and all the felting can be completed in about 4 hours. Assembly requires minimal sewing with only 4 pieces to attach (the legs). Everything else is crocheted in one piece; the tail is one with the body and the ears are crocheted on.

This CAL is part of the Projectarian’s Year of Fur , where all Projectarian patterns are fur themed for 2022.

PATTERN INFO

The pattern contains minute detail on choosing supplies and everything else you need to know. The following is an overview of yarn and other info.

YARN WEIGHT:

Double knit, which is the equivalent to yarn weight 3, light worsted, 8 ply or 11 wpi. Choose yarn that has a weight similar to 2.6 m/g.

YARDAGE: total amount = approx. 45g For crocheting & felting.

FINISHED SIZE: 6 cm tall X 20 cm long

TERMINOLOGY: US terminology with metric and imperial sizes.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate

Although it is rated as intermediate, I’ve written this pattern with lower skill levels in mind. The pattern has been thoroughly tested to ensure it’s accurate and easy to follow. If you get stuck, ask for help from the Projectarian community on Facebook (link in pattern).
