Brassica Bloom
The design:
The first Brassica Bloom I made was a gorgeous mustard one. It’s working name was ‘the mustard thing’ so keeping with the theme I named it after the plant family the mustard plant belongs to- Brassica
Brassica Bloom can be used as a table decoration, a wall hanging or a blanket. Brassica is an intermediate level pattern that repeats with a little counting
Brassica Bloom uses Pi Formula to increase. It will curl up quite a lot before the increase round. This is normal, but a little freaky. I promise it will uncurl like magic after the increase. Maths is magic, who knew ;)
The first section has 3 sets of fan rounds, the second section has 6 sets of fan rounds, the 3rd section has 12 sets of fan rows and so on and so forth until desired size
Materials needed:
Brassica Bloom was designed using 4ply/Fingering/weight 2 yarn. Meterage used was 900 m for the wall hanging and 2700m for the blanket. I used a 3 mm hook for the wall hanging and a 4mm for the blanket. Wall hanging measures 68cm blanket measures 130cm.
Can be made in any weight yarn. Meterage will vary based on yarn used, hook size and crochet style.
