Bright Here Bright Now Scarf
Bright Here Bright Now Scarf is knit in your favorite 6 color combo of fluffy yarn. This project is perfect for travel knitting, tv knitting, or knitting with friends, because you just cast on and knit! Wherever you choose to knit yours, you’ll have a hard time only knitting one!
CONSTRUCTION
Scarf is CO with yarn held double and worked in the round from the bottom up. Fringe is applied to CO and BO edge which closes the ends of the tube. Optional brushed finishing is performed to make the scarf super fluffy and create a watercolor effect to the stripes-plus it’s fun to do and looks super cool!
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approximately 20” / 50cm circumference X 75” / 188cm long
Finished Measurements do not include fringe.
YARN REQUIREMENTS
Please note these are yarn estimates. The amount used will depend on yarn, your personal gauge, and any modifications you make.
Dimond Laine Birdie (74% Suri Alpaca, 26% Silk; 328 yards per 50g); 1 skein in each of 6 colors
Or
Light fingering weight yarn in the approximate amounts:
C1: 328 yds / 298m
C2: 301 yds / 274m
C3: 317 yds / 288m
C4: 328 yds / 298m
C5: 328 yds / 298m
C6: 256 yds / 233m
OPTIONAL FRINGE FINISHING will require either approximately 79 yds / 72m of 1 color or multiple colors totaling approximately 79 yds / 72m. Sample shown used C1 for fringe. C1 estimate includes fringe yardage.
NOTE: OPTIONAL BRUSHED FINISHING can only be performed on Suri Alpaca or Mohair yarn. Therefore it is HIGHLY recommended you choose a similar fluffy yarn. Using a yarn with a different fiber composition than what is mentioned will yield a vastly different finished object.
