You can knit the beanie also without mohair using just a single strand of DK weight yarn. If you wish to make the DK weight version, omit all instructions where it says “hold both yarns together” and work with a single strand instead.

You can easily adjust the length of the hat to get the fit you want. The hat is knitted from top down, so you can try it on as you knit it to make sure the length is just perfect for your head. After the crown shaping the rest of the hat is just simple stockinette stitch and the brim is in 1x1 ribbing.
