This cute heart afghan square is great for stashbusting to have a variety of heart colored squares that can be used for a variety of projects including throw pillows, blankets, shawls, wall hangings and so much more!

Materials:

• 30 Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn - I used Red Heart Super Saver; You’ll need 10 Yards of the Heart color, and 20 Yards of the Background/Border color
• H8/5mm Crochet Hook
• Tapestry Needle

Material Notes:
I like Red Heart’s Super Saver for my home projects because it’s affordable, durable, and machine washes well. I also really like Lion Brand Wool Ease, and WeCrochet Swish, which are both wool blends. They’re so soft, cozy and not itchy. For non-wool options, try WeCrochet Brava or Lion Brand Color Theory.

If I was going to make something like a washcloth, doily or table runner, I would use a cotton yarn, like Lily Sugar n Cream or WeCrochet Dishie.

If size isn’t essential to your project you can use any yarn from your stash with respective crochet hook.

Red Heart Super Saver is an inconsistent yarn. While the overall gauge isn’t important, it is important that the gauge for both yarns that you use are the same. I had to use a H8/5mm for my Soft White, and an I9/5.5mm for my Buff.

Time Spent:
About an hour and a half - really flew by though!

• 8″ Square: 5 Boxes = 3 5/8″ Wide & Tall
• 8 1/2″ Square: 5 Boxes = 4″ Wide by 3 3/4″ Tall
