Cape Freels is a sleeveless top, combining the Crest of the Wave chevron lace, colour blocking and stranded colourwork to evoke the feeling of being on the shores of Cape Freels. The main body of the tank (overlay) is worked bottom-up to the start of the straps and then the underlay is worked sideways from the lace to the stranded colourwork. The stranded colourwork is knit in-the-round and mitered, joining the front and back at the sides, and finished by an I-cord button band edging. The straps are worked last to your desired strap length and joined using the 3-needle bind-off.
Lace and colourwork are charted only.
Sizes

Intended to be worn with 0 to 5cm / 0 to 2” positive ease at chest. Sample shown is the size 3 on an 89cm / 35” bust corresponding to 6cm / 2.5” positive ease. A list of measurements is provided. If you wish a sleeker fit such as shown: do not choose a size that gives you more than 10cm / 4” of ease at bust . If you are aiming for a very care-free and loose garment: you can go for a size that gives you more than 10cm / 4” of ease at the bust. If you desire more ease in the waist and hips: you can adjust more ease in the waist and hips by adding more short rows in the MC stockinette before you work the stranded colourwork.

The gauges were achieved with the following needle sizes. To work the pattern as written, you must swatch and use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Size A: 2mm (US 0) ** only for I-cord BOs and folded hem** (at centre body hem).
Size B: 2.5mm (US 1.5) for body (circulars or straight). You will needle a 60cm / 24” circular needle for the colourwork bands.
