The Carousal Cowl features a unique scalloped design
within the cowl, created by using slipped stitches. Instructions are also given for the optional placement of beads within the scalloped design. The cowl is knit using fingering weight yarn. The scalloped feature can be worked using two strands of halo yarn instead of fingering weight. Carousal, ending with “al”, means celebration. Carousel, ending with “el”, means merry-go-round. This cowl is a celebration. It takes about 300 yards of fingering weight yarn for the main color and 50 yards for the contrasting color. The contrasting color can be one color, or use different colors for each scallop. Optional beads can be placed on the pinnacle of each scallop. Instructions to do this are included. This cowl is knit in the round, using 32” circular needles.
