Some people have the stitch number issues for the pattern. You need to find the difference between “kfb” and “kbf-2”:

kfb: (knit front and back into 1 st, 1 st inc’d)

kbf-2 (knit back and front of the loop, 2 sts inc’d):
the strand between 2 sts---insert LHN from front to back under the strand, lift the strand and twist it to form a loop, then knit back and front of the loop.

pfb-2: (purl front and back of the loop, 2 sts inc’d) insert LHN from front to back under the strand, lift the strand and twist it to form a loop, purl through the front and back of the loop (2 sts inc’d).
