Celia socks
The Celia socks are knitted toe up with a short-row heel. These shorties are especially designed for leftover yarns, and the toe-up construction means you can continue knitting the cuffs until you run out of yarn. If you have more leftovers you can easily knit the cuffs longer (tip: it’s helpful to weigh your yarn before starting to knit so you know when you have used half of your yarn and make sure you have enough for the second sock!)
The socks are started with Judy’s magic cast on and are best worked with the magic loop technique. The Celia socks’ most prominent feature is the intricate cable and lace pattern, which is surprisingly simple to knit and easy to memorize. The heels are worked with German short rows, which are explained in this pattern. The Celia socks look best in solid or slightly variegated colors for the stitch pattern to show in its full glory.
