Chainette Turtleneck
The Chainette Turtleneck is one of my favourite designs that I created using one of my favourite store-bought sweaters as the inspiration. The store-bought sweater was a grey, oversized, textured, turtleneck sweater, and I created my own hand handmade version based on the exact shape by working a few rows and laying my work over top to see if it lined up or not. If it didn’t match, I would rip out and start again.
This #sizeinclusive sweater is designed to have a wide fit in the bust and gradually become more fitted as the sleeves are worked to the wrists which I find to be a really flattering fit for all body types. The deep raglan increases allow for a really comfortable, roomy fit. The bracelet-length sleeves end a few inches shy of the wrist, and the sweater length ends at mid-hip. Instructions are included to adjust for a longer sweater that extends to the lower-hip or past the bum, as well as where to place extra rounds for extended sleeves.
Size Inclusive
Sizes: XS (S/M, L/XL, 2X/3X, 4X/5X)
To fit bust sizes: 28-31 (32-39, 40-47, 48-55, 56-62)”
Balls required: 6 (8, 9, 11, 11) balls Lion Brand Chainette in Beige (#478-123)
Yardage: 748 (931, 1131, 1336, 1420) yds Chainette or similar category 4, worsted weight yarn that matches gauge.
Yarn substitutions: Most worsted weight yarns should work in place of Chainette regardless of fiber content, as long as gauge is met!
