This Cheery Piper is ready to head to the Christmas parade with some cheery tunes, dressed for the occasion with a feathered cap and bright festive uniform. Knit this bugler for your yuletide decor, to pipe in some cheer for the eleventh day of Christmas.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the piper is knitted in acrylic aran weight yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). A crochet hook is used to crochet a single chain for the bugle’s handle/lanyard.

A pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 6).

For the doll, Stylecraft Special Aran (medium/worsted weight) 100% acrylic; 25g in each shade.
For the feather in the cap, King Cole Cuddles Chunky 100% polyester faux fur yarn; 25g in White.

Tapestry needle, toy filling, a stitch holder, a 4mm crochet hook, and two 6mm buttons for eyes.

One size only - 18cm tall.

For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
