This is the pullover that I was commissioned to design and knit for the movie Cider House Rules. The movie was filmed partly in Northampton and I was contacted by the costume designer to make several items for the movie. Charlize Theron wears this sweater in the scene at the drive-in in a jade green color.
I have re-knit this using worsted weight yarn. It has been a very popular pattern in shop (Northampton Wools) and I have finally re-written it in an updated fashion. But please excuse the rough schematic- I am just learning how to do it.
The sweater is fairly simple to knit, the ribbing and horseshoe cable compliment each other . This gives the sweater a slightly fitted shape without actual shaping.
The sleeves are meant to hang over the shoulder just a little so although the shaping is there for a set in sleeve- it will not fit right at the shoulder.
I have seen this in every color and on every shape body there is. It looks great on everyone.
