Cobble Socks
Have you ever bought the perfect skein of indie dyed yarn and then not known what to make with it? You’re not alone! Now you can use those gorgeous skeins to make socks as unique as the yarn you love!
These socks are designed to emphasize the unique properties of variegated yarn. Instead of swirling together, the colors each have their own chance in the spotlight! Choose a contrasting mini skein for contrasting heels, toes, and cuffs, or use just your special skein!
This pattern is perfect for both gift knitting and making yourself a new favorite pair of socks!
Pattern Includes:
- 7 circumference sizes
- Suggestions for choosing the right size and ensuring proper fit
- length charts in both inches and cm from Newborn to US Men’s 14.5, so you can knit these socks for virtually anyone without even measuring their feet!

- 0-6 Months (6-12 months, Toddler, Child, Women’s S/M, Women’s M, Women’s L/XL-Men’s S/M, Men’s M, Men’s L/XL)

- If you use the recommended yarn, all sizes should be able to be made with one full skein and one mini skein. It may be very close in the larger sizes, and if you’re knitting for a very large foot, I recommend getting a second skein)
This pattern was inspired by the gorgeous yarns created by Christy of Yarn Cafe Creations, whose yarns I highly recommend if you are going to knit these socks.
This pattern has been test knit and edited for accuracy and clarity. Testers have rated this an advanced beginner to intermediate level pattern because it includes a short row heel.
New to short row heels? No worries, I’ve created a video tutorial to go along with this pattern that will walk you through a short row heel step by step, and includes tips and tricks to help you create the perfect heel!
