I am sharing a really simple crochet pattern for some corner to corner coasters. They work up really quickly, and would make a lovely addition to your table, as a gift, or for sale at a local craft fair.
Video tutorial included.
Prefer a mug rug instead? Try the Colin Drew Mug Rug.
Prefer a coaster worked in C2C in HDC boxes instead? Try the Colin Harper Coasters.
Looking for another easy coaster pattern? Try the Shay Coasters.
MATERIALS:
- About 25 Yards of Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (Per Coaster) – I used Lily Sugar n Cream in the Hot Green and Blueberry colorways
- H8/5mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Optional, Jewelry Pliers
MATERIAL NOTES:
Yarn Alternatives: Bernat Handicrafter, Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran, Rico Creative Cotton Aran, Crafter’s Secret Cotton Yarn (from Hobby Lobby)
Jewelry pliers are an excellent tool to use to help weave in ends, as cotton yarn can be quite tough on the fingers when weaving in with just fingers and a tapestry needle.
TIME SPENT:
13 Minutes Per Coaster
GAUGE:
Not essential. 5 Boxes Wide by 5 Boxes Tall = 3 ¾” Square
With the nature of this stitch pattern, the easiest way to measure is to do so in pattern.
ABBREVIATIONS (US Terms):
- DC – Double Crochet
- SC – Single Crochet
- C2C - Corner to Corner (in DC Boxes)
