COPIHUE is inspired by the national flower of my country, the chilean bellflower or Copihue.
A legend says that during the Arauco War (1536-1818), the women of the weichafes (’warriors’) climbed the highest trees to see the survivors of the battles. Realizing that destruction reigned and that their companions were lying dead, they came down shedding tears that turned into flowers of blood; Thus, the red copihues remember the spirits of the dead.

Una leyenda cuenta que durante la Guerra de Arauco (1536-1818), las mujeres de los weichafes (‘guerreros’) trepaban a los árboles más altos para divisar a los supervivientes de las batallas. Al darse cuenta de que reinaba la destrucción y que sus compañeros yacían muertos, ellas bajaban derramando lágrimas que se convertían en flores de sangre; así, los copihues rojos recuerdan a los espíritus de los muertos.
