Sweet Yarn Fairy original, a great stash buster for left over yarn. This cowl uses up luxury yarn without having to figure out yardage… perfect for the smaller balls which high end yarns are made of. This is a great, fast project, perfect gift or a snuggle for yourself. Worked in fine yarn you will have a lovely head band, when worked in bulky you have a snuggly cowl, so many options. Whichever you choose, enjoy your project.
Supplies:
Yarn: Kollage Creamy, 80/20 Milk/cotton, 200 yards per 50 grams-headband Yarn Fairy hand spun bulky 2 ply 50/50 silk/merino, Glacier color-cowl OR any yarn between.
Needle: Size 4 US/3.50 mm straight for headband with fine sock weight yarn
Size 6 US/4 mm with sock weight yarn for small/med size cowl or wristers
Size 7 US/4.5mm for sport/DK weight Medium size cowl Tker used Paton Astra
Size 8 US/5mm for worsted weight – Lare cowl Tker used Lion Brand Amazing
Up to size 10.5 US/6.5 mm with bulky – Extra large cowl YF hand spun bulky
Crochet Hooks: 16 US/.06mm for placement method of beading
G hook for provisional c/o
Beads: Contrasting or matching in size 6/0 (sock yarn only) transparent AB – your choice quantity varies at least 25 grams. 6/0 beads will only fit on sock weight or finer. Miyuki Triangle beads 4x4x4mm with large center hole for sport & WW - bulky has no beads.
