For the knitter who is in love with cables and texture here is a jumper that will give you satisfaction. The sideway construction means that the lines are horizontal, avoiding that “bulky” look that aran style knitting tends to give to a silhouette. The sleeves are narrow and long to keep the hands warm or to roll up to get them out of the way, and they follow the contour of the arms in contrast with the boxy look of the body.

This drop-shoulder oversized boxy pullover features a variety of cables and stitch combinations, a sideways construction and ribbed sleeves. The front and back panels are worked flat as two separate pieces that are seamed at the shoulders and sides. As you work the panels, on the right side you will have the shoulders and neck and to the left the double garter hem.

The sleeve stitches are then picked up and worked in the round in a 2/2 rib.

The neckline can be left unfinished or one row of crochet stitch can be added for stability.
