Cretan Butterfly Coin Purse
Cretan Butterfly Coin Purse design was inspired by my recent vacations by the sea. On the Crete island. you can read about this design and see more pictures HERE.
Coin purse is made in overlay crochet technique with lots of cables and front post stitches. Both sides can be made exactly the same or with different order of colors to make your purse look unique.
This easy to follow pattern (10 pages) contains step by step full written instructions in English using standard crochet abbreviations and US terms (stitch guide is given in the pattern). It also contains lots of pictures explaining all the tricky and difficult places.
Crochet level: Intermediate (front post stitches are used in this pattern).
The size of finished coin purse depends on the yarn and hook you use. My purse is approx. 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter.
Materials:
** Leftovers of yarn in 4 colors. I used 100% cotton yarn “Catona” by Scheepjes (50g/1.75 oz., 125m/137 yds.)
** Crochet hook 2.5 mm (C) or the size that will give an acceptable gauge.
** Scissors and Tapestry needle to weave the ends.
** Metal half-circle curved coin purse frame.
There are two copies of the pattern offered to download: one is very detailed with many pictures, and second copy is printer friendly (with written instructions only and no pictures).
