The rock ballad - Crimson Day by Avenged Sevenfold - with its moving lyrics about the depths of darkness and hope for a new day, is the inspiration behind this shawlette.

In the silhouette of a rising sun, the shawlette consists of ridged outer sections that define those darker emotions while the soft lace centre depicts the hope of a brand new day.

The shawlette is worked top down from a garter tab cast on. It uses easy increases every second row to create its crescent shape and is finished with a picot cast off.

This pattern is provided with written instructions and charts.

Please note: While gauge isn’t crucial for this shawl, the finished size will be affected by any differences.
