Crystal Bay Shawl
Beautifully clear Crystal Bay on the north end of Lake Tahoe is said to contain the deepest point in the lake. In addition, the famed Cal-Neva Resort is on Crystal Bay and boasts a swimming pool that crosses state lines (California & Nevada). Once a favorite hang out of the Rat Pack, the resort now contains a spa and remains a luxurious place to stay in a lovely area.
This shawl features the same diamond and crest motifs found in the Fannette Island Cowl, but is worked in a lovely crescent shape to drape around the shoulders and curve gently when worn. It is worked with large-ish needles and worsted weight yarn, so it’s a quick knit. Schoppel Wolle Gradient’s stunning colorway inspired this piece, though it can certainly be worked in a tonal or solid.
PATTERN NOTES
The charted section of the pattern includes the 20 stitch repeat (total of 19 repeats). Each edge has 2 garter stitches and a slipped stitch edging.
