Dancelets
These super simple, fun anklets are based on the chunky, bell-
covered anklets beloved of my daughters. They are a sweet way to use up all those scraps of yarn. Any weight of yarn and any size ankle are suitable. For me, the real appeal is that your child can knit his/her own with you. After that, all you’ll need is some music.
Sizes: Fit to measure.
Needles: Two double-pointed needles in size US #1 1⁄2 (2.5mm) for fingering weight OR Two double-pointed needles in size US #4 (3.5mm) for DK weight.
Gauge: This pattern is gauge-free (yay!).
Yarn: Various, from fingering to DK. This is a good opportunity to use eyelash or other novelty yarns.
Notions: Tapestry needle for darning in ends, scissors, small jingle bells to sew on, sewing needle and thread, ribbon, jump rings, small pliers, and any notions you care to use for embellishment.
