ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love the rain. I love dropped stitches. And dropped stitches remind me of the rain! Dancing in the Rain is named after the dropped stitch sections, which remind me of raindrops and streaming water.

This knit is a fun, addicting asymmetrical triangle that is easily memorized and customized. It is written for one 2 Mile Series skein of fingering weight yarn, which creates a lightweight shawl with a lot of drape. However, feel free to make this pattern yours by using the yarn weight and color schemes that you love! It would look beautiful in a solid, tonal, speckled, faded, or multi-color scheme.

This pattern is written using seven different sections that are repeated throughout the pattern, making it easy to adjust the length of your shawl as you desire. The pattern includes both written and charted instructions in one PDF file, but the pattern is organized such that you can easily print either the written or the charted instructions -- no need to waste ink and paper!

500 yards/460 m; 125 grams of Fingering Weight Yarn

Designed using Running on Yarn 2 Mile Series, shown in Blue/Seaglass.

GAUGE
16 stitches, 32 rows = 4 in / 10 cm in garter stitch

TOOLS
US 8 / 5.0 mm circular knitting needles, minimum 32”/80 cm long
Darning needle

TECHNIQUES
This pattern uses simple stitch patterns and a basic lace pattern, including KFB, SK2P, and YO techniques. This is a great pattern for an adventurous beginner interested in learning new stitch patterns. I include linked video tutorials in the pattern to techniques that may be new to you.
