tell the yarn who’s boss,
then watch what happens next.
you’ll have to keep your eye on it (the pooling),
but it will be so worth it!
pattern includes instructions for making a longer, narrower cowl in worsted (shown in ‘blue orchid’) or a taller cowl that has a smaller circumference (shown in ‘rainbow in the dark).
as an added bonus, once the knitting is done you can easily change the overall look of things. the same cowl, folded differently, is shown in both the 3rd and 5th photos. in the 3rd photo, it’s folded lengthwise with the solid sections at the long edges. in the 5th photo, it’s folded lengthwise with the speckled sections at the long edges. in the 1st photo, the cowl is folded half and half so that both options show. ta-da!
note: this pattern was designed to work specifically with the fiber seed’s ‘sprout’ special speckles in worsted or dk or sock weight. to recreate the pooling shown, you will need to use one of those particular yarns.
photos 1, 4, 7 & 9 are sprout dk.
photos 2 & 5 are sprout (fingering or sock).
photos 3, 6 & 8 are sprout worsted.
