Desert Scarf
Size:
Onesize.
Measurements:
Width: approx. 45 cm {1’6”} in the center tip and 28 cm {11”} in the straight parts (incl. edging).
Each tip is approx 145 cm {4’9”} measured from the center along the outer edge (these measurements are post-washing).
Yarn:
200 g Tvinni from Isager (100 % pure new wool) (510 m pr. 100 g). Color 6S.
Crochet Hook:
4.00 mm (US size G/6, UK/Canada size 8)
- or the hook size required to obtain the gauge listed below.
Gauge:
Before washing: approx. 20 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm {2.5” x 2.5”}
After washing: aprox. 22 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm {2.5” x 2.5”}
Please note that the gauge will change after washing. Furthermore, the ribbing is quite elastic, which may make it more difficult to find the correct gauge. The gauge will likely also vary between the different sections of the shawl - I recommend measuring the straight parts around the center. Being a scarf, no major harm is done by not obtaining the correct gauge as long as your gauge is within reason, as this may become an issue regarding the amounts of yarn needed.
Construction:
The scarf is worked in rows from the center and outwards.
