Domino

Domino is a fun stranded pullover to showcase Fleece & Harmony’s new gradient sets. The sweater is started at the centre with a provisional cast-on and worked sideways, centre-out to cuffs, with a steek at the neck and a steek at the hem. The sides are closed with a 3-needle bind-off and then the stranded patterning continues into the sleeve.

What colours would you choose in your cascade of stranded bands?! Why not even make each band a different gradient or a different colour?

Intended to be worn with 10cm to 15cm / 4” to 6” positive ease at chest. Sample shown is the size 3 on an 89cm / 35” chest, corresponding to 13cm / 5.25” ease at chest. A list of measurements is provided on page 3.

Yarn

Fleece & Harmony Selkirk Worsted (100% Canadian wool; 183 metres / 200 yards per 80 grams / 2.8 ounces) in main colour (MC) Natural, and contrast colours (CC1) November Sky, (CC2) Atlantic Sky, (CC3) Northumberland Blue, (CC4) Blue Lobster and (CC5) A Night without Stars. If using sample yarn, you will need (5, 5, 6) (7, 7, 8) (10, 12, 13) skeins of MC and (2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2) (3, 3, 3) Gradients Kits of your colour gradient choice (one Gradient Kit contains 20 grams of each of the contrast colours).

Gauge

Stockinette:
20 sts and 28 rnds to 10cm / 4” with size B needles after blocking (or needle size required to match gauge).

Stranded:
20 sts and 26 rnds to 10cm / 4” with size C needles after blocking (or needle size required to match gauge).

Needle & Notions

The gauges were achieved with the following needle size. To work the pattern as written, you must swatch and use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Size A: 3.5mm (US 4) 60cm / 24” circular needles (neckband) and preferred needles for small circumference knitting (cuffs).

Size B: 4mm (US 6) 100cm / 40” circular needles for the single colour St st body, and DPNs or small circumference circulars for
the single colour St st sleeves if preferred.

Size C: 4.5mm (US 7) 100cm / 40” circular needles for the Fair Isle bands on the body, and DPNs or small circumference circulars for the single colour St st sleeves if preferred.

You will also need: spare needles or interchangeable cables for holding sts, a spare needles or interchangeable cable for the provisional cast-on, stitch markers.
