Dorset Cardigan
Dorset Cardigan is a classic raglan design that features wide raglan lines and knit covered buttons. It is meant to be a staple in the wardrobe and truly versatile piece that blends well with any style. Cardigan is worked in stockinette stitch all the way through. Yoke and body is worked flat and sleeves are worked in the round. Two strands of fingering weight alpaca yarn is held together throughout the pattern. Intended to be worn with 15 to 20 cm (6” to 8”) of positive ease. Pattern is written in American knitting terms, with minimal abbreviations. Read the pattern all the way through before you begin.

Model is wearing size M on 93 cm / 361⁄2” bust. Please note that the correct size can only be achieved if the correct gauge is achieved. See the final measurements below before you decide on the size.
Gauge / Tension
Main 19 stitches by 25 rows=4”x 4”(10x10cm) using size US8/5.00mm needles in stockinette stitch, after washing and blocking.
Suggested Yarn
360, (375), 420, (450), 500, (550), 600, (600), 650 grams of the Lamana “Cusi” fingering weight, 50 grams = 225 meters / 246 yards. Featured in color 11 Two strands held together throughout the pattern.
Suggested needles
For the yoke and body 80 cm / 32” US 8 / 5.00 mm circular knitting needles or size to obtain gauge.
For the body ribbing 80 cm / 32” US 6 / 4.00 mm
For the sleeves US 8 / 5.00 mm double pointed needles or small circumference (25 to 30 cm / 10” to 12” circular knitting needles).
For the sleeve cuffs US 2.5 / 3.50 mm double pointed needles or small circumference (25 to 30 cm / 10” to 12” circular knitting needles).
For the button band 80 or 100 cm / 32” or 40” US 2.5 / 3.50 mm circular knitting needles. Button covers (optional) US 1.5 / 2.5 mm.
