Dottie Pet Slipover
The Dottie Pet Slipover is worked separately as panels, then seamed together. You will begin by creating the back Gingham panel, while following the color work chart and instructions included, then the front chest panel. The Dottie has a split length hem, ribbed chest, and the perfect Gingham pattern for that iconic preppy picnic look. You may choose to work with either 2 or 3 colors to make up the Gingham pattern, as corresponding charts for both options are provided.
Please note that size 1XL has not been tested so yardage given is a general estimate.
DIFFICULTY
Intermediate / Advanced
You will need to know how to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, work with stranded / fair isle color work, work increases, bind off and have an understanding of RS vs WS of work and seaming techniques.
SIZES
XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 1XL
The Dottie Slipover is designed to be a sleeveless, fitted sweater with a ribbed chest to allow for a more comfortable fit, however you can adjust the sizing as needed to fit your pet. The sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 1XL are designed to have a fitted neck and a positive ease of about 2-4” / 5-10 cm at the chest, and fit a neck circumference of 8 (9) 12 (14) 17 (19) 23 inches / 20 (23) 30.5 (35.5) 43 (48) 58.5 cm and a chest circumference of 11 (14.5) 17 (20) 25 (30) 34 inches / 28 (37) 43 (51) 63.5 (76) 86 cm. The measurements for the finished sweater listed on the first page are only achieved if the sweater is knitted in the correct gauge. Before beginning, measure your pet with a measuring tape around her neck, along her back, and the widest part of her body to determine which size would fit best. I recommend trying the sweater on your pet as you work. You may adjust the length as needed.

ALSO INCLUDED
Also included with your download is the Fuzzywuz Knitwear - Size Modification Guide. This guide has been designed to work in tandem with all Fuzzywuz Knitwear patterns to help users modify sizing for any pets that do not fit within the standard FW size chart.
For example, if your pet is barrel chested and wider through the chest than usual, or much skinnier than most, this guide aims to help you understand how to adjust the sizing of each pattern to get a perfect fit!
(Please keep in mind that any of these modifications may increase the amount of yardage needed so make sure to account for this when purchasing yarn. Please also note that this guide is not a pattern and cannot be used separately to make a pet sweater, it is simply a guide to assist with size modifications to any Fuzzywuz Knitwear patterns.)
The Size Modification Guide is made for an Intermediate / Advanced skillset. In addition to needing to know basic knitting techniques, you will need to understand gauge and be able to do a fair amount of math on your own to adjust your sizing. While this guide will describe the steps needed to customize your pet’s measurements, you will need to do the actual calculations on your own, as each pet is unique.
PLEASE NOTE
This pattern and accompanying Size Modification Guide is for personal, non-commercial use only. The pattern may not be copied, resold or redistributed in any way. You also may not sell any items produced using this pattern. The guide may not be used to develop a pattern separately.
