Dundee
I like using vintage stitch patterns, and most of the time I make at least a slight modification to add them to a more modern design. For the Old & New series, I began with edgings that were published in 1891, as part of the Home Work collection.
Dundee is an triangular shawl worked in garter stitch from the tip to the bound off edge. I added bobbles (worked without turning) to the edging and also modified the last repeat to finish off the diamond shape at the tip of the shawl. The design is very intuitive and makes for a relaxing and adaptable knit. Work from either charts of the full written instructions.
Use yarn weights from lace to aran to make it any size you want; be sure to adjust yardage requirements when making substitutions.
Materials used for sample (weighs 89g):
Holst Garn Coast
2 skeins Moorland
