The smallest of all rabbit breeds, Netherland dwarf bunnies have baby-like features even as adults, like relatively large heads and eyes, and short ears. Holland lops are usually somewhat bigger but very similar in general proportions: they have compact bodies, short limbs and abundant coats, so in a sitting position their rear legs are almost invisible with only the tip of feet peeking out.

Size
About 13 cm (5”) long and 11.5 cm (4 ½”) tall (not including the ears), if made with DK yarn.

Tools and materials
~ yarn in any bunny-appropriate coat color and (optionally, for a contrast color tail) in white, cream or other pale color
~ crochet hook: 3mm (approx. US size C) if using DK yarn; or size that gives you a tight, no-gaps fabric
~ black plastic eyes: 12mm for DK yarn (preferably sew-on type)
~ if using sew-on eyes, dental floss or strong thread to attach them
~ embroidery floss in pink or other contrasting color, and a large, sharp point embroidery needle
~ fiberfill stuffing
~ (locking) stitch marker, pair of scissors, yarn needle, pins
~ optional: a small piece of Velcro to fluff up the tail; a pair of tweezers to help with stuffing

Difficulty
This pattern is suitable for intermediate level crocheters who are confident with basic stitches (ch, sl st, sc) and frequently used amigurumi techniques (magic ring, invisible decrease). It includes a short row technique which is actually quite simple, but much easier if you already have a safe grip on basics.

The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology (UK/Aus equivalents provided). It contains many in-progress photos, but also includes a text-only appendix for easy printing, if you prefer working from a printed pattern but want to save ink and paper.
