Earthbound is a striking semi-circular shawl with a simple pattern of dotted rays expanding out through the yoke, bordered by a textured pattern of woven lines, and edged with a unique 2 coloured lace mesh.

The stockinette yoke of the shawl is formed with 8 wedges, mirrored down the centre, which can be worked to any size. This transitions to bands of reverse stockinette with slipped stitch cables floating over the top, leading into the striped lace edge.

The design suits fingering weight yarn, ideally a solid colour and a complementary variegated. The pictured shawl used 125g/440m of Golden Pear (ochre), and 75g/260m of Vroni (variegated), however the ratio will change if working a larger yoke.

Yardage requirements are somewhat flexible, requiring a minimum of approx 600 (660y) of fingering weight yarn. The edging can be extended to use up to approx 900m total by working chart 1 larger.

The design can be worked entirely from the written pattern, or from charts with some notes.
