Egyptian Heiroglyphs Charted For Knitting
You will receive 19 pages of charted designs for 28 ancient Egyptian Heiroglyphs that can be used to “write” your name, a sentiment (happy birthday, good luck…), any word or words you like! This is really fun knitting! You can use these heiroglyphic charts to decorate home accessories, clothing, hats, socks, and more.
I researched this type of writing (carving, really) and then worked up the charted designs. The charts are worked up to be used together, and all are in proportion to each other as found in real heiroglyphic writing. The charts range from 6 to 56 stitches high and from 5 to 37 stitches wide.
Instructions on using the charts to create your own words and read the charts is included. Instructions for working the charts in the round and also on flat knitting is included in the pattern. Also you will receive a little information about the heiroglyphs themselves.
The first picture shown is part of a cardigan and says “Sharon”; the writing is read from top to bottom (yellow and black photo). The second picture is part of a pillow I designed and says “harmony” (blue and black photo). Please note that the individual charts only are supplied, you will combine them yourself (the charts for these words as shown are included only as separate heiroglyphs - not in word form - and the borders shown are not included).
Please contact me with any questions. I am available for knitting help via e-mail.
