Meet Ernie the Horse! Ernie is a little colt foal with big, big dreams and he can’t wait to make his grand entrance. Ernie dreams of being a jockey when he grows up, he even has his outfit ready!
This pattern was designed in memory of my dad, and I will be donating 70% of pattern sales to the charity Cruse Bereavement Care.
Product Info
This crochet pattern is written in US terminology and includes 18 pages of clear pictures and detailed instructions for you to create your very own horse that can either sit or lie down. This pattern will provide you with all of the instructions to make your own horse and all of the instructions needed to create an optional jockey outfit.
There is no specific gauge for this pattern, but please try to keep your tension tight. When using the same yarn and hook size, your horse should measure roughly 7 inches tall.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner – some of the techniques used may be a little tricky, but there are plenty of instructions and photographs to guide you throughout the pattern.

White acrylic yarn (Yarn A) - Stylecraft DK in White - 50g
Light Grey acrylic yarn (Yarn B) – Stylecraft DK in Silver - 20g
Dark Grey acrylic yarn (Yarn C) – Stylecraft DK in Graphite - 20g
Blue acrylic yarn (Yarn D) - Stylecraft DK in Cornish Blue - 30g
Black acrylic yarn - (Yarn E)- Stylecraft DK in Black - 5g
Toy stuffing - 90 - 100g
2.5mm crochet hook
3mm crochet hook
Black embroidery thread
Tapestry needle
Pins for sewing
