Boba Fett, a bounty hunter feared throughout the galaxy for his mad skillz, need not have perished in the Pit of Carcoon in Tatooine’s Dune Sea. His steely visage can be yours to fear and/or cuddle with this fluffy stuffed Boba Fett helmet plushie!
This pattern is the precursor to a full-fledged Boba Fett knitted plushie, but since the likelihood of me being able to finish the whole fella anytime soon is not looking good, I wanted to at least give people the pattern for the finished (and arguably most important) part of the pattern.
This pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, and is great for using up scraps of yarn you might have lying around. The chart provided is fairly basic—it shows the trademark T-visor and surrounding paint job, as well as the famous dent in the crown. Feel free to embellish it with other damage. Clever fingers could easily turn out little embroidered symbols, or at the very least the red or yellow “kill bars.” (I believe there should be nine.) You may notice the viewfinder/antenna is not here. That will be a part of the final Fettish pattern.

Notes:
This pattern uses duplicate stitch for the details on the front of Boba’s helmet. I know lots of people aren’t a fan of duplicate stitch—it can be lumpy, or not adequately cover the colour of the yarn underneath. I am not generally an advocate of duplicate stitch for those exact reasons, but after some experimentation with other colour techniques I decided it was the least of several evils. To achieve optimum coverage, you might have luck using a slightly thicker yarn for the duplicate stitching as for the body itself, and don’t pull your overstitching yarn too tightly, to allow it to fluff and cover the colour underneath. The slightly thicker fabric it creates helps to firm the plushie when you’ve stuffed it, so it may even be a boon in that case.
If you still can’t stomach it, it’s okay to try other colourwork methods!
